Many of our fans have asked us if Grand Archive TCG could appear as a tournament at major TCG and Anime Events. Such examples include GenCon, Anime North, and more. Historically, our answer was no, as we didn't want to create a barrier of entry to an event that requires the purchase of a potentially expensive convention ticket.
However, we acknowledge the importance of convention tournaments to TCG communities especially in Oceania and thanks to Geek Culture's efforts, we're pleased to announce their one-shot premiere event, The Quicksilver Cup, will debut inside The Auckland Card Show in New Zealand. This first iteration will also act as one of the first Distorted Reflection premiere events in the region.
The Quicksilver Cup in terms of competitive tiering slots cleanly in between a Regionals and an Ascent, and the rewards will also follow suit. As a publisher, we want to do as much as we can to support our ambitious organizers and you can expect quite a few unique goodies. For starters, you can expect a cash prize that rivals that of an Ascent and a Wildcard Regionals invite instead of the region-specific one. Then on top of this, you can expect an exclusive playmat for VIP packages and a stamped version of the Convention Promo as Day 2 prizing (the stamp will be that of The Auckland Card Show logo). But most importantly, all ticket packages to the tournament also include a ticket to the card show, so no one is left behind.
