We’re making some slight adjustments to how applications for both Store Championships and Event Kits will work starting in the Abyssal Heaven (HVN) Season!
Previously, the methods used for both Event Kits and Store Championship applications were functional, but causing some inconsistencies in fulfillment that left much to be desired. We’re going to update both of these application methods for the upcoming season, with the hope that it will greatly improve our ability to ensure all stores have their materials on time!
For the upcoming form, this will be the very first time stores can apply for HVN Event Kits! Since the set launches on March 8, the kits will not be shipped immediately, and will only arrive after the set is fully available. This first form will become available starting February 22, 2025, and close on Friday, March 7, 2025. After this first month, the forms will adjust to be earlier and end on the final day of the month prior.
As a reminder, Event Kits are Grand Archive’s tournament support packs for game stores to supplement their usual prizing with. Each Event Kit contains 64 event packs, and stores can receive up to 3 kits per month depending on their average player activity in that month.
Though stores are able to choose how to distribute these packs, we recommend the following breakdown for an 8-person local event.
5th - 8th: 1 Event Pack
3rd & 4th: 2 Event Packs
2nd: 3 Event Packs
1st: 5 Event Packs
This way, a single kit can support 4 local events with 8 players each!
Because of this, we are adjusting to have the Store Championship application window have a hard deadline before the season begins. Moving forward, all events will be confirmed at the start of the season, so players can plan accordingly and so we can ensure that every store receives their prize kit right away.
We do still want to ensure that stores have plenty of time to apply for their event and plan ahead, so the total amount of time the application will be open will remain a 1-month window. It will begin two weeks prior to the release of the new set (Feb 22) and end two weeks after (March 22). After that, stores may no longer apply to host a Store Championship for the current season, and will have to wait until the following one.
Due to the nature of how Omnidex handles event permissions, it should be noted that applications will not start being approved until the Abyssal Heaven season goes live, which is scheduled for Friday, March 14. During that week, stores that applied will receive an email stating whether or not they have been approved for an event that season.
As a reminder, here are the criteria for hosting a Store Championship:
- A store must have been registered in Omnidex for at least 4 weeks prior to approval
- A store must actively be holding events (a store is considered active if it has completed at least two events in the past 4 weeks)
- A store must be in good standing
After this, the list of all approved Store Championships and their requested dates will be made public so that players have easy access to that information. Please keep in mind that stores may change their Store Championship date from what was originally requested, so if you are a player planning to attend an event, make sure to confirm which date it is happening!
