Booster boxes are the primary way for players to obtain new cards. These boxes release approximately once every four months, and alternate between Standard sets and Expansion sets.

Standard sets are slightly larger, and introduce a new setting with new champions. These sets are generally a lower power level, and server as a better starting point for newer players - often including some important reprints of staple cards alongside the new set. Expansion sets are slightly smaller, and are designed to build upon the new ideas and characters from the paired standard set. These boxes also come with 24 booster packs inside.
